Currently, Dong Nai has 31 ethnic groups. Ethnic minority groups form approximately 8% of its population. In recent years, it has invested heavily in power systems, road links, schools, stations, public housing and the institutions of culture, education, vocational training and so on. Thanks to this investment, people’s material and spiritual life is increasingly improved. In addition, Dong Nai has taken its greater care of ethnic groups by building three ethnic villages for a sustainable development, two resettlement areas, 2,000 houses of compassion and two ethnic boarding schools at provincial level and cooperated with the Vocational Training School 8 (under the Ministry of Defence) in providing vocational training for ethnic minority youths, maintained political security and social order and safety in ethnic minority groups’ settlement areas and kept the political system working effectively.
At the working session, the survey team of the Central Commission for People Mobilization Work highly appreciated the efforts of Dong Nai province to implement the Party and State’s policies on ethnic minority affairs.
